wildlife center & corporate headquarters
This new campus near Golden, CO will be home to a 25,000-square-foot headquarters for Wildlife Protection Solutions, a nonprofit organization that protects wildlife around the world.
An extensive planning effort realized the successful rezoning of this 40.2 acre property to allow for a unique multifaceted campus. It will include the WPS headquarters building, and conference center, residences, rental cabins, a veterinary clinic, an animal rehabilitation center, as well as an animal evacuation site. Additionally, there will be an outdoor amphitheater for events and fundraising alongside a roaming bison herd.
The existing agricultural design vocabulary will be preserved and contextualized within new architectural forms while the historic buildings will be rehabilitated. With a buffer zone of grazing between Highway 93 and the new development, this environmentally sensitive site plan and design aesthetic will diminish the impact of development.
This project will provide wildlife conservation education, help various conservation groups meet their objectives and be a community resource for wildlife awareness and efforts.
